The new Taigo focusses on design, individuality and emotion. With full LED headlights, an alldigital cockpit and the latest generation of infotainment systems (MIB3) as standard, the SUV coupé measuring in at just under 4.26 metres sets high technology standards in its class. The expressive body shape is the first of its kind in the Volkswagen brand’s model portfolio. With a crossover body style and a silhouette like that of a coupé, the new Taigo – just like its Brazilian counterpart the Nivus – is perfectly equipped for winning over new, predominantly young and youngatheart groups of buyers for Volkswagen. The technical basis of the Taigo is Volkswagen’s MQB. Depending on the options selected, the Taigo also comes with the new IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights and an illuminated radiator grill crossbar.
The Taigo’s design is characterised by strong proportions, with the silhouette like that of a coupé being particularly striking with the C pillar slanting well forward. Inspired by SUV coupés in higher vehicle classes, this makes the Taigo unique in its sector.
On the inside, the Taigo scores with an elaborately designed multifunctional steering wheel and modern control elements as standard. The infotainment systems are based on the third generation of MIB3, including an online control unit (eSIM) and “App Connect Wireless” (depending on the configuration). Features such as access to streaming services, natural voice control and cloudbased personalisation using “Volkswagen ID” allow the use of the latest MIB3.1 services, depending on the configuration.
And when it comes to driver assistance for more comfort and safety, the new SUV coupé is very similar to Volkswagen models from higher sectors. Every Taigo comes with assistance systems such as the surroundings monitoring system “Front Assist”, including city emergency brake function, and the lane departure warning system “Lane Assist” as standard. “IQ.DRIVE Travel Assist” is available as an optional extra, enabling semiautomated driving up to a systemdetermined top speed of 210 km/h.

2022 Mercedes Benz E Class (overview)
There are sportier alternatives to the 2022 MercedesBenz Eclass, but few are as seamlessly highclass and hightech. While the behindthewheel experience isn’t as exciting as that of its AMGtuned twin­–the separately reviewed 429hp E53–the regular E is subdued and serene. Its cabin is beautifully appointed, remarkably quiet, and fitted with flashy tech features such as the dual displays embedded in its dashboard. The E350 sedan is powered by an commonforthesegment turbo four, but the E450 enjoys a sweet turbocharged straightsix. This strong, smooth mill is available in the sedan and standard on the coupe and cabriolet. Regardless of the powerplant, all body styles supplement their classy interiors with a cushy and composed ride. Add the 2022 Eclass’s roster of advanced driver assists to its luxury appointments and quality assembly, and its esteemed position among midsize luxury cars is evident.

Every Eclass features an obedient ninespeed automatic transmission that pairs with three distinct engines. The E350 has a turbocharged fourcylinder that makes 255 horsepower and 273 poundfeet of torque. It pairs with either rear or allwheel drive. The E450 is powered by a turbocharged inlinesixcylinder engine with a 48volt hybrid system that doubles as an electric supercharger. The setup sends 362 horsepower and 369 poundfeet to all four wheels. Since the Eclass is a comfortbiased car, its handling is competent but not sporty. It leans in corners, but it rarely feels overwhelmed when pushed hard. With the optional air suspension in its Comfort setting, the ride is creamy, and the Eclass is perfect for gobbling up lots of road. It glides over pavement imperfections with only slight notification of such unpleasantries communicated to the cabin. With the drivemode selector set to either Comfort or Eco, the steering is nicely weighted—not too light, not too heavy—and feels accurate.
Fuel Economy and RealWorld MPG
The fourcylinder E350 earned ratings of 22 mpg city and 31 mpg highway with rearwheel drive and 22 mpg city and 30 mpg highway with allwheel drive. The more powerful E450 model is just as efficient with ratings of 23 mpg city and 30 mpg highway.
The Eclass’s cabin is beautifully detailed with brushed aluminum, lovely wood, and some of the most comfortable seats we’ve ever tested. Every model comes standard with customizable ambient interior lighting, heated front seats, a 12.3inch digital gauge cluster, and memory settings for the driver’s and front passenger seat. Desirable options include a headup display, massaging front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and ventilated frontseat cushions. Under its shapely rear end is a trunk that offers less space than some rivals, but the Benz has them beat when it comes to interior cubby storage. Lowering the rear seatbacks opens up much more space for hauling cargo, but they don’t fold completely flat so loading heavy items may feel like a chore.
The Eclass comes standard with a 12.3inch touchscreen infotainment system, which can be controlled in myriad ways that include a touchpad on the center console as well as voiceactivated commands. Despite the litany of controls, the interface isn’t as intuitive to operate as its predecessor was, which featured a useful rotary controller on the center console. The MBUX system comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Those who want fancier features can upgrade to a powerful Burmester stereo and wireless charging.
Safety and DriverAssistance Features
Although it comes standard with several driver assists, such as automated emergency braking and blindspot monitoring, most other equipment costs extra.
Available adaptive cruise control with stopandgo technology.
Available lanedeparture warning and lanekeeping assist.
Available automatic highbeam headlights.
Warranty and Maintenance Coverage
MercedesBenz covers the Eclass lineup with a competitive limited and powertrain warranty. However, unlike rivals such as BMW and Jaguar, the company doesn’t provide any amount of complimentary maintenance.

No complimentary scheduled maintenance.
